Mocha WHITE was completed by Emily in three sessions. At the first session roasted coffee beans, cooked coffee grounds, white tempera paint, and Elmer’s Glue-All were combined and poured onto the canvas. With the help of her collaborator Emily spread the mixture with a wooden fork like tool.

At the second session chocolate syrup was mixed with cooked coffee grounds and white tempera paint. Using a squeeze bottle to apply the mix Emily filled the empty edges of the canvas. At the last session coffee beans, white tempera paint and Elmer’s Glue-All were spooned onto the canvas and with the help of her collaborator Emily spread the mixture with her wooden fork.

At the end of each session Emily happily drank a glass of her favorite beverage, decafe coffee mocha, which was brewing as she worked.
