FIND HEDGE HOG - by Randy R.
The rubber squeak toy “Hedge Hog” has been a comforting companion for Randy in the past several years, except for a period when it was missing, and then found. It took Randy over a dozen sessions, working with his collaborator, to create this artwork in honor of his buddy.

For the first two sessions a quantity of Sculpta Mold was prepared and portions scooped onto the canvas. Randy smashed down the plaster-like substance with a wooden mallet and then smoothed out the mound with his hands.

In the remaining sessions, Randy poured Elmer’s Glue-All on selected areas of the canvas and then shook a jar with small pieces of confetti sized construction paper over the sticky areas. After the glue had dried the excess confetti was shaken off, and the process began again.

Randy would often have “Hedge Hog” somewhere nearby as he worked, as you can see in the last photo. A an actual tiny image of “Hedge Hog” is hidden in the art piece, hence the name "Find Hedge Hog."
