DRIP PAINTING NO. 4 - by Tom J.
Tom used a dripping paint platform to complete Drip Painting No. 4 in one session that lasted thirty minutes. He operated a button switch attached to the tray of his wheel chair.

|
It was connected to a rotating turntable and cassette player with music. Each time he activated the switch some of his favorite music played for sixty seconds and the table top rotated for a complete revolution and then stopped.

Six bottles with different colors of tempera and sugar paint mixtures dripped onto the canvas and table top below. Two dripped blue, two dripped white, one dripped light blue, and the last dripped dark blue.

The color choices, pace of the falling drops, and locations of the paint bottles were determined by Tom’s collaborator. Tom hit his switch enough to almost continually rotate the table top.
