| Henny finished Space in three painting sessions lasting about forty minutes. She started by covering the entire canvas board with black sugar paint using a one inch brush. Two maracas were then filled with sugar paint by her collaborator, one with pink and the other with dark red. |

| Henny shook them onto the wet canvas board splashing droplets over and over into the middle of the painting. At the next session the canvas board was placed on a rotating turntable as Henny shook one maraca filled with orange sugar paint into the center area. |

| White sugar paint was then added to the same maraca and Henny added a lighter shade of orange in the same manner. At the last session white sugar paint was added to one maraca and Henny shook a few accent droplets into the center of her painting. |
