| Daivd completed Sugar Paint on Lumps in two sessions. In the first fifteen minute session his collaborator prepared three batches instant pudding and tempera paint mixtures: green, blue, and beige. |

| David swished a broad green stroke onto the canvas and then spooned several piles of beige or blue pudding over the green stroke. In the second thirty minute session his collaborator prepared several mixtures of tempera paint mixed with sugar. |

| David used a large brush to paint the canvas with green tempera and sugar paint covering his previous work. Then using three plastic squirt bottles he poured white, orange, and then red sugar and tempera paint onto the canvas in random patterns. |
