| Lisa completed Strokes and Smears II in two sessions. In the first thirty minute session Lisa poured four colors of tempera paint mixed with sugar (orange, yellow, red and white) onto the canvas with plastic squirt bottles. |

| She then proceeded to cover the entire canvas spreading the mixtures with two different brushes. In the final twenty minute session four colors of acrylic paint were squeezed onto paper pie plates (red, dark violet, blue, and white) for Lisa. |

| She used a brush to dip into the paint and then stroked or spread each small amount of acrylic paint onto the canvas. As she painted with of the acrylic colors her collaborator moved the canvas from time to time affecting her stroke. |
