| Scott finished Drip Painting No. 1 Elaborated in one background painting session, two drip painting sessions, and a final session. At the background painting session, using his sponge brush, Scott covered the canvas surface with white acrylic paint mixed with salt dough.

| At the paint dripping sessions Scott had a button switch attached to his wheelchair which was connected to a rotating turntable and cassette player with music. Each time he activated the switch music played for sixty seconds and the table top rotated for a complete revolution and then stopped. |

| The first drip painting session results were covered at the second drip session. Six bottles with blue, white, turquoise, and dark blue tempera paint mixed with sugar dripped onto the canvas below which was then placed in a vertical upright position to drip dry. The next day, at the final session, Scott used a sponge brush to stroke some accent marks onto the piece with white tempera paint mixed with sugar. |
