| Billy finished Sugar Creek in two painting sessions. In the first thirty minute session Billy used a medium sized brush to spread red tempera paint mixed with sugar over the entire canvas. |

| At the second thirty minute session Billy prepared three colors (dark red, red, and orange) of tempera paint mixed with sugar. His collaborator poured the mixes into three plastic squeeze bottles. Billy then squeezed sugar paint from the bottles until the paint was gone, flooding the canvas. |

| When the sugar paint was mostly dry the painting was mounted on a wall for observation. A small creek of syrupy liquid flowed from the center of the painting draining some undried paint mixtures, but remarkably did not contain any paint pigment! Can you find “Sugar Creek”? |
